Hey there Reader,
“The Vision Board That Changed Everything”
Creating a Vision That Inspires and Transforms
Thirty-five years ago, I created my first vision board. At the time, I had just come through a failed relationship.
All I deeply desired was to meet someone I could truly connect with, fall in love, and build a family of my own. I envisioned children to raise, love, and grow with. I dreamed of a marriage not just based on love but on a partnership where we’d grow old together.
Today, I’m 25 years into a marriage full of deep connection, shared growth, and joy beyond my wildest dreams.
That vision board also reflected my passion for social justice, which led me to work in victim services for 32 years. It included my love of theatre, my dream of immersing myself in nature, and my desire to reconnect with water, skiing, and the outdoors.
Every single aspect of that board came true. My life didn’t just follow the path I dreamed of—it exceeded it.
This experience taught me that visioning isn’t just about dreaming; it’s about creating clarity, setting intention, and believing in possibility.
And it’s not just for midlife women or young girls with big dreams—it’s for EVERYONE. No matter your age, gender, or stage in life, visioning can help you find clarity and direction.
💡 Are you trying to rise above the fog in your career and take leaps and bounds forward?
💡 Do you want to build a relationship rooted in love, connection, and growth?
💡 Are you yearning to discover your purpose, serve others, and make a meaningful difference?
Visioning is the first step toward all of this and more.
Why Visioning Matters
How often do we live according to someone else’s rules? We adapt to the expectations of society, family, employers, and even ourselves, often ignoring our true desires.
Without a clear vision, we risk operating on autopilot—working jobs that drain us, staying in relationships that don’t serve us, or avoiding change out of fear.
When we pause, reflect, and dream, we open the door to something incredible: the chance to align our lives with what feels authentic and meaningful.
How to Create a Vision That Inspires You
Visioning can be fun, creative, and even magical. Here’s a simple guide to help you craft a vision for your future:
- Reflect on Your Values
What truly matters to you? Your values are the foundation of your vision, guiding your decisions and ensuring your goals align with what’s meaningful.
- Make Space for Solitude
Quiet reflection is essential. Step away from daily noise—whether it’s through a walk in nature, journaling, or simply sitting in silence. This allows your intuition to emerge and your dreams to take shape.
- Celebrate Past Successes
Look back on the last year or several years. What accomplishments brought you joy? Where did you shine? Recognizing your successes helps you see patterns and obstacles, clarifying what’s working and what needs to shift.
- Dream Without Limits
Ask yourself: If nothing was impossible, what would my life look like? Imagine every detail—your surroundings, the people in your life, how you spend your time, and the impact you make.
- Create a Vision Board
Gather images, words, and symbols that represent your dreams. Vision boards are powerful visual reminders of what you’re working toward—and they’re fun to make!
- Break It Down Into Goals
Identify 3–5 goals for the year. Then, create actionable steps for each goal, focusing on how these can show up monthly or even daily in your life.
- Believe in the Possibility
Trust that your dreams are achievable. Life offers abundant opportunities if you’re willing to engage, get creative, and stay committed.
Why Vision Boards Work
Vision boards aren’t just creative exercises—they’re tools that rewire your mindset. They help you focus on what’s possible, shifting your brain’s programming to support your goals.
Revisiting your vision board regularly keeps your dreams alive and reminds you to take inspired action.
Even if you feel stuck or unsure of what you want, the simple act of dreaming opens doors. Whether you long for connection, adventure, or fulfillment, creating a vision allows you to explore new possibilities and take steps toward them.
3 Questions to Ponder
- What values are driving my current decisions? Are they aligned with the life and vision I want to create?
- If fear wasn’t holding me back, what would I allow myself to dream of or pursue?
- How can I carve out time for quiet reflection this week to gain clarity on what I truly want?
